Poetry On The Edge

I swear of all the times I have been inspired to write poetry,
I always expect to get something maybe a little hard,
but always trying to be positive as a result... but THIS!!!!
I don't know where this came from,
I was feeling a bit overwhelmed that day
as I was truly inspired and wrote this in a matter of minutes!
I can only presume it is symbolic of current lifestyles
and how things are going for us as a people and
feeling like things are going way over the edge...
I sent it out to friends as a text and was told 'I need a rest'.
Who knows...

SOMETHING IS HAPPENING
INSIDE OF MY SOUL
BITTER RESENTMENT
AS I GROW OLD
PEOPLE WITH OUTSTRETCHED
HANDS AS THEY WHINE
LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO
WILL GIVE THEM A DIME
NOT WANTING TO DO
A GOOD THING IN RETURN
THEY LAUGH AND THEY
SNUB YOU AND TELL YOU
'OH WELL' , NOT KNOWING
THEIR ARROGANCE WILL
SEND THEM TO HELL
SO IF YOU SHOULD SEE THEM
WITH UPLIFTED BROW OR A
POUT THAT WILL TELL YOU
THEY NEED SOMETHING NOW
DON'T FALL FOR THAT PLOY
DO NOT PLAY THEIR GAME
OR ELSE WHAT I'M FEELING
YOU'LL BE FEELING THE SAME
